Transportation for older adults enables independence and access to essential services such as medical appointments, grocery shopping, and social gatherings. Reliable and accessible transportation provides access to leisure activities that make life meaningful, contributing to the overall well-being of older adults remaining connected and involved in their daily activities. Eligible older adults may qualify for transportation services with various public and private transportation companies. Please check each individual website for more information.

Lyft Program
Through our partnership with United Way in the Empowered Partners Program, eligible older adults can be connected to transportation services through Lyft at no cost to them for rides up to $50 roundtrip. A Lyft ride can be requested to attend medical appointments, social activities, and other essential engagements.
As an agency, we can schedule rides for older adults in advance (concierge) with 24-hour advance notice or provide them with a unique code to redeem for rides up to $50 roundtrip through their account in the Lyft app.
Eligibility
- 60+ years of age
- Experiencing a transportation barrier that limits their ability to travel in their own vehicle
To schedule trips/request a code
- Must provide 24 hour advance notice between 9am - 5pm, Monday - Friday
- Destination must be within Broward County limits
- Must stay within the allotted budget of $50 roundtrip
A maximum of $50 for a one-way trip only
A maximum of $25 for each ride round trip
- The older adult can be accompanied by a caregiver or a friend
