Local Seniors Honored at 40th Annual Dr. Nan S. Hutchison Broward Senior Hall of Fame Breakfast

June 26, 2024 (SUNRISE, Fla.) – The Area Agency on Aging of Broward County (AAABC) honored exceptional Broward senior volunteers, 60 and older, for their contributions to the community at the 40th Annual Dr. Nan S. Hutchison Broward Senior Hall of Fame Breakfast. The event took place on Monday, June 17 at the Renaissance Fort Lauderdale West Hotel located at 1230 South Pine Island Road in Plantation.

The 2024 Hall of Fame Election Committee, led by Broward County Mayor Nan H. Rich, selected ten local candidates for induction into the Broward Senior Hall of Fame, which honors residents aged 60 and older who have performed outstanding volunteer work in Broward County for at least five years and were nominated by their local peers. This year’s honorees included Paul Sallarulo, Joy Rodenberg, John Raite, Betty Miller, Elizabeth Robinson Massey, Rosena Lott, Dr. Jorge Lopez, Carolyn Hardy, Lori Green, and Odessa Striggles Bennett.

“We are proud to honor and celebrate these ten outstanding volunteers,” said Charlotte Mather-Taylor, CEO of AAABC. “Their work is marked by compassion and kindness and has made a lasting impact on the community.”     

The volunteers were recognized at the Senior Hall of Fame Breakfast made possible by generous community partners, including gold sponsors Bingo At Four Corners, David Posnack Jewish Community Center, Kramer, Green, Zuckerman, Greene & Buchsbaum, PA, McKinley Insurance Services, and VivaMás Medical Centers.
